Casa Privacy Policy

Who we are

Casa is a private household app operated by SeriousDesign (Quito, Ecuador). For anything related to this policy or your data, contact us at info@seriousdesign.net.

What data Casa uses

Casa uses the household's own budget entries.

Only if the owner connects Gmail, Casa also gets read-only access (scope gmail.readonly) to emails that match the bank's card-purchase notifications. From them Casa extracts the date, amount, merchant and the last four digits of the card, and it keeps the text of the matched email so it can be re-read if the parser improves. Casa never sends, deletes or modifies email.

How the data is used

The data is used only to show and categorize the household's own purchases inside the app.

Sharing

The data is not sold, not shared with third parties, not used for advertising, not used to train AI or machine-learning models, and not read by anyone other than the account owner.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Casa's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Storage and security

Data is stored in the household's own database on its own server, served over HTTPS and protected by a login. The Gmail token is kept in a file that only the server user can read.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept until the owner deletes it. Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete data, email info@seriousdesign.net and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date of the latest change is shown below as "Last updated".
